Charity tours

On June, 30 Children Hospital Fund together with Bridge to Moscow project organized the first charity bike tour. A party of 14 people of different age groups, origin and occupations got together to enjoy a lovely Saturday evening.

Pedaling along the Moskva river, enjoying refreshing breeze from the water, we had some quick stops to see some familiar Moscow views at a new angle. The fleet of bikes was headed by Michail Kazbekov, a director of the Children Hospital Fund as well as a leading tour-guide of Bridge to Moscow project. Michail shared his deep knowledge of Moscow while other participants added some more interesting details to narrated stories. Cycling by the Kremlin wall, Christ the Saviour Cathedral, the House on the embankment, Peter the Great Monument, Gorky park, the Luzhniky Stadium, the Novodevichy convent, Leo Tolstoy House-museum, Crimean bridge we were told numerous stories about the past, present and the future of the capital, about unrealized projects of the Grand Kremlin Palace and Palace of Soviets, about the housing situation, central heating and many more striking facts.

All the participants enjoyed the tour that much that expressed the wish to repeat such a "journey" in the nearest future. Thus we do hope it is only the start of a number of charity tours we are happy to offer to those who live in Moscow and want to look at it at a different prospective. All the money donated for the tour went to the Burns Center at Speransky Children's Hospital.

We also express a gratitude to Oliver Bikes company for providing us with some free bikes for this charity bike tour.
