Moscow metro is famous not only for its exquisite design and interior but also for its unique trains. Nowadays there are seven of them which have their own names.Some of them are dedicated to significant military campaigns and battles, others - to art and culture. "National home guard" honors the memory of the veterans of the Great Patriotic War who used to work for metro and metro construction.
Another train dedicated to one of the most violent battles of the World War II is"The Battle of Kursk" which reminds of the participation of the armored train in the defense.
Not only military pages of Russian history are lit in Moscow underground. "Red Arrow -75" was launched to commemorate 75 anniversary of de luxe train which circulates Moscow-St. Petersburg and used to be the fastest train before Sapsan's emergence. This year Moscow Metropolitan celebrated 75 anniversary of its functioning. For this occasion retro train "Sokolniki" was specially made to look like the first train of Moscow Metro.
Keeping educational and cultural purposes in mind, such trains as "Watercolor","Reading Moscow","Poetry in metro" were manufactured by local authorities. "Watercolor" is a train-gallery where one can find reproductions of Segey Andreyaki's paintings as well as masterpieces of the Russian Museum and the Art Gallery named after Pushkin.
"Reading Moscow" train encourages Muscovites to read more. It is decorated with quotations and illustrations from classic works of Russian and foreign writers.
The last creative idea of Moscow metro workers is "Poetry in metro" train which started running a few days ago on Filevskaya line. Its goal is to get Moscow passengers acquainted with poets from all over the world.The first selection of poems intends to introduce creative work of Chilean poets.
