Cultural Heritage Day and Museum Night 2016

If you are in Moscow this May, you have a great chance to visit about 130 museums for free on “Cultural Heritage Day” and at “Museum night”.
On 18th May from 10 am to 5 pm the guests of the capital will visit Museums of Moscow Kremlin, including the Assumption Cathedral, the Cathedral of the Archangel Mikhail, the Cathedral of the Annunciation, the church of the Deposition of the Holy Robe and the Assumption belfry exhibition hall for free. On 21st May at 5 p.m. Presidential regiment ceremony will take place at the State Historical Museum.
Cultural Heritage Day on 21st of May (Saturday)
If you spend your weekend in Gorky Park, you can join a free tour “8 minutes around Gorky Park”. You will learn about its history, listen to Neskuchny garden legends and get acquainted with the most popular attractions of 1930s. The excursions start at 12pm and 4 pm. From 4 to 6 pm in MUZEON park the educational project “Division of perception: Soviet art and visual culture” will be held.
The Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics will open its doors to the visitors of all ages. Adults will learn more about the first projects of Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, the famous Russian space craft designer Sergey Korolev and children will take part in interesting cosmic quest and watch documentaries.
If you prefer to be outdoors, then go to the Sheremetiev family's estate Kuskovo to enjoy French park, admire palacial interiors and see ceramics exhibition. Interesting program with folk songs, classical music and different master classes is prepared for visitors.
Museum Night 2016
Moscow tour guides recommend that you visit VDNKH. Here you are welcome to join a free tour, visit the exhibition “Eternal values; naive and amateur art from Tsaritsyno museum”. see the works of modern photographers Alexander Petrosyan and Fedor Telkov or see beautiful gowns of famous Russian actresses.
Would you like to hear church bell ringing? Kolomenskoe is a place to go. At 9 pm you might listen to the professional sexton Evgeniy Fokin, ringing Georgievskaya belfry' s bells
At Tretyakov Gallery you might attend a special project dedicated to the anniversary of Vasily Kandinsky. Visitors are welcome to admire two masterpieces of this renowned master, join free tour marathon and traditional celebration of the Museum Night 2016.

In 2019 in Moscow Museums Night will be held on May 18. Hundreds of urban cultural spaces will be open until midnight, and some until morning. Many galleries and museums have prepared special programs with free guided tours, concerts and master classes.
2019 year in Russia has been declared as the Year of the Theater, therefore many events will be devoted to the history of the theater.

Primeval Russia Photo Exhibition
One of the most interesting photo festivals opened its doors to the visitors of all ages in CHA (Tsentralny Dom Hudozhnika). The exhibition uniting more than 500 works is devoted to Russian nature. The project “Primeval Russia” was organized by the enthusiastic photographers, documentary directors, cameramen, travelers and scientists.
