Modern Photography Festival in VDNKh
14.06.2016 – 31.07.2016
This June First Modern Photography Festival invites all the admirers of this genre to visit personal exhibitions of two Russian photographers – “Connection point” by Fedor Telkov and “Kunstkamera (translated as Museum of curiosities)” by Alexander Petrosyan. These two projects were united within the principle of contrast. Fedor Telkov prepared black-and-white works, while Alexander Petrosyan – snapshots in color. The first one demonstrated his serious attitude, search for the meaning of life; the second was full of grotesque irony and found his inspiration in everyday curious situations. Meanwhile, both of them, of course, have a great gift of attention and show Russian reality with all its colors.
Alexander Petrosyan is one of the most talented modern photographers, working in the genres reportage and street photography. His project “Kuntskamera” is an exhibition devoted to Saint Petersburg and its citizens. The author creates the portrait of this unique town in all its diversity. On his photos you will see people of different social classes as well as beautiful and unpleasant scenes from Saint Petersburg day-to-day life.
If you have never been to the Urals, the exhibition “Connection point” by Fedor Telkov will give you a chance to get acquainted with this geographical and cultural region of Russia. You will admire the beautiful nature, see the remains of factories, mines and mills and feel the special mood of this place.
If you visit First Modern Photography Festival, Moscow tour guides recommend that
you pay attention to the exhibition “One Photo Museum”. It will tell you about the development of modern photography and introduce new tendencies and main genres of this art. We remind you that all these interesting events will take place in pavilion 59 of VDNKh.
