The International Military Music Festival "Spasskaya Tower" will be held on Red Square from 31st August – 4th September 2011. Since 2009 this music show has become one of the key events of the cultural life in Moscow.

"Spasskaya Tower" gathers the best military-orchestras and cultural bands from all over the world. The "cultural ambassadors" from more then 40 countries will perform their national military classical, folk and popular music. Among the participants are the musicians from Russia, Ukraine, United Kingdom, China, Jordan, Norway, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, Pakistan, Mexico, Greece, Spain and France.

Among the most artistic dance groups are the bands from Greece whose members will dance sirtaki, the National Ukrainian Presidential Orchestra that will entertain the audience with Ukrainian folk songs, jazz and swing. Another interesting program is prepared by the cultural troupe from China. Chinese dragons will come to life on Red Square, there'll be an original cavalry theatre performance, and the show will resemble a traditional Chinese prayer for the prosperity of the country

A world-famous guest of the festival is  the French chanteuse Mireille Mathieu. This is not the first time of her taking part in the Moscow tattoo. This time, Mathieu will perform two songs in French - Padam-padam and Pardonne-moi, as well as a cappella - Russian song "Do not go, my dear."

The Festival program features   wonderful marches linked to the most important episodes in the history of Russia and other countries.  On September 4  at the festival closing ceremony the fifteen hundred musicians will perform "Ode to Joy" by Beethoven and a solemn overture "1812" by Tchaikovsky.

The daily audience of the festival will exceed 7 000 people on Red Square only. The main show will be held at 8 pm. You can find the program details and tickets information  on the officiial webpage of the festival. This stunning show might become the highlight of your Moscow tours.
