The mechanics of a miracle exhibition

20.12.2013 – 28.03.2015
If you want to know all the secrets of the XXII Winter Olympic Games that took place in Sochi in 2014 you should certainly visit a great exhibition called «The mechanics of a miracle» settled down in VDNKH.

Within the framework of this event our country made the first attempt to preserve the Olympic decorations and let the visitors get inside this unique show. Remembering a sad story of the Olympic Bear 1980 that became an easy prey of rodents in the warehouse, the organizers of the exhibition this time decided to share the valuable displays in the largest pavilion of VDNKH called Cosmos.

A huge collection contains Russian «troika» (a trio of horses) at least 5 stories in height, Olympic rings-snowflakes, that due to their size were installed in front of the building and some masterpieces of the Russian artists - Lentulov, Malevich, Suetin and Lissitzky that served the prototypes of the legendary Olympic decorations. Unfortunately, the visitors of the exhibition won't be able to see the snow leopard, the polar bear and the snow hare – the symbols of the 2014 Winter Olympics. These giants filled with modern electronics are too delicate to transport so they had to stay in Sochi Olympic Park. However, the guests of this event will have a chance to learn some curious facts about these creations of Australian engineers, operated by two persons – the navigator and the movement coordinator.

Moscow tour guides recommend that you visit the official site of VDNKH for more information about timetable and tickets for this event. We hope that «The mechanics of a miracle» will give you a great pleasure!
