Times and epochs 2017
01.06.2017 – 12.06.2017
If you enjoy the beginning of summer days in Moscow, pay close attention to people on the streets – you may come across a Roman legionary having a sweet chat with a fin de siècle poet. And do not to hesitate to believe your eyes, it’s actually happening! “Times & Epochs. The Gathering”, one of the most spectacular historic reenactment festivals, is currently on Moscow streets and squares, attracting citizens and visitors of the city. The series of festivals began in 2011, evolving from a local event in Kolomensky Park to a broad-scale convention, including about 6000 participants.
This year festival is covering almost every epoch, from Iron Age to the middle of the XXth century. The central location of the convention – Tverskoy boulevard of history – invites everyone to become part of the historical contest and share great moments with participants. Kolomensky Park will become a shelter for a Roman camp with its gladiatorial combats and ancient merchants, while Ploshchad Revolyutsii will host country dances, show vintage cars and cultivate the atmosphere of the 19th century. The full map of the activities may be found on
You may combine the festival activities with a Moscow tour covering major highlights of the capital.
