We invite you to explore a very picturesque and interesting area of Moscow outside the Garden Ring. We will walk along New Basmannaya street and some neighboring side streets, get to know the people who lived here in the past and admire amazing Moscow architecture from different periods of time. The highlight of the tour will be a visit inside Red Gates Administrative Building which is one of the Seven Sisters. We’ll visit a typical apartment and even have a a tea with the locals.

New Basmannaya appeared in the 17th century but was mostly associated with Peter the Great time. At that time it was the main way to "German" Quarters which was populated by foreigners from Western Europe. During the tour we’ll talk about Peter the Great as well as great intellectuals from the 18th and 19th century.

Did you know that there’s a church designed by Peter the Great? Are you curious to find an academy where Khrushev and Stalin’s wife used to study? Where is the oldest house outside the Garden Ring? Are you keen on visiting a typical apartment of Stalin’s Seven Sisters?

A tour features a 1,5 hour walk, please make sure to prepare comfortable and warm clothes.
