A visit to Pyotr Tchaikovsky

join!

24.03.2018
Are you one of the admirers of Pyotr Tchaikovsky?  We invite you to escape the hustle and bustle of Moscow and discover a small and cozy town of Klin where Pyotr Tchaykovsky spent the last year of his life and composed the magnificent sixth Symphony, finished the scores of the Iolanta opera and   the Nutcracker ballet, wrote 18 pieces for piano and the last Third piano Concerto.

We’ll visit the house with the original interior where Tchaikovsky  was living,  was composing his great pieces of music, everything was carefully preserved by his brother Modest, and transferred into first memorial museum. You will see personal belongings of Pyotr Ilyich, gifts presented to him during concert tours, his musical library and library of Russian and foreign literature, and of course the piano of Becker  company which can be heard nowadays only twice a year on the days of the composer's birth and death. Never having played the piano in a concert hall for an audience, Tchaikovsky did play at home for his guests, and enjoyed playing duets with visiting musicians.

In one of the rooms you can even hear Tchaikovsky's voice, although only one phrase. Tchaikovsky memorial house is a magnet for musicians and composers from all over the world as well as passionate lovers of his music.
