A Visit to Pyotr Tchaikovsky

join!

03.11.2019
Are you one of the admirers of Pyotr Tchaikovsky? We invite you to escape the hustle and bustle of Moscow by train and discover a small and cozy town of Klin where Pyotr Tchaykovsky spent his last year and composed the magnificent Sixth Symphony, finished the scores of the Iolanta opera and the Nutcracker ballet, wrote 18 piano pieces and the last Third Piano Concerto.

We’ll visit the house with the original interior with everything carefully preserved by the composer's brother Modest as it was in Tchaikovsky's time, including gifts presented to him during concert tours, his musical library and library of Russian and foreign literature, and the famous Becker piano which can be heard only twice a year on the days of the composer's birth and death. Never having played the piano in a concert hall for an audience, Tchaikovsky did play at home for his guests, and enjoyed playing duets with visiting musicians.

In one of the rooms you can even hear Tchaikovsky's voice, only one phrase though. Tchaikovsky Memorial House is a magnet for musicians and composers from all over the world as well as passionate lovers of his music.
