Museum of Russian Desserts Tour

join!

04.02.2018
What sweets were popular in Russia in the past? When did coffee and tea become known in our country? What music was performed in a chocolate shop and how detective stories could increase sales of chocolate boxes in the 19th century?

We invite you to visit the museum of Russian desserts, explore the interior of a 19th century candy store, learn more about the tea drinking  traditions in Russia and talk about sweet Christmas decorations of the past.

How many cups of tea would an average Russian drink during a visit to a friend? How was tea served in the past? How could gingerbread help soldiers during the First World War?

An essential part of the tour is tea from samovar. We’ll practice tea drinking the way Russian people did in the past. The tea will be accompanied by unusual and forgotten type of sweets. You’ll be surprised to discover that very ordinary ingredients found in an average grocery store today could serve a good base for tasty sweets.

During the tour we’ll have a  master class  of  making a sugar flower
