Are you curious to visit the oldest Film studio in Europe? Established as a private atelier by Aleksandr Khanzhonkov and Joseph Yermolyev, nationalized by the Soviet State and turned into the the powerful propaganda weapon, Mosfilm survived through the transition years of 90s and became the concern which produces almost all the Russian motion pictures, television series and video products. Functioning as a film concern Mosfilm rents out its facilities and pavilions, vehicles, the pyrotechnic store to different private film companies and film studios.

The great minds such as Sergei Eisenstein, considered the father of modern montage technique, Andrei Tarkovsky, one of the greatest science fiction directors to ever live, Oscar winner Vladimir Menshov brought the world fame to this studio. Unlike Universal Studios in America, Mosfilm is not a theme park but more a serious and in depth look at the production of film and the history of the art form.

The museum located on the its grounds offers a great chance to see clothes, props and retro cars, explore indoor and outdoor sets , learn about makeup procedure. It is also an opportunity to learn some stories and tricks of film making process.
