The great opportunity to plunge into the country side ambiance is to visit the house-museum of the world-known composer  Pyotr Tchaikovsky. Located 83 km to the north-west from Moscow in the town of Klin, this house is a wonderful retreat  hidden by the small forest on Leningradky highway on the way from Moscow to St. Petersburg where Pyotr Tchaykovsky spent the last year of his life and composed his last symphony №6 . In the house you might discover the original interior where Tchaikovsky  was living,  was composing his great pieces of music, everything was carefully preserved by his brother Modest, and transferred into first memorial museum. You might see personal belongings of Pyotr Ilyich, gifts presented to him during concert tours, his musical library and library of Russian and foreign literature, and of course the piano of Becker  company which can be heard nowadays only twice a year on the days of the composer's birth and death. Never having played the piano in a concert hall for an audience, Tchaikovsky did play at home for his guests, and enjoyed playing duets with visiting musicians.  Nowadays,  winners of the annual International Tchaikovsky Competition are invited to play the grand piano. These notorious musician also began a tradition of planting oak trees in the Tchaikovsky's garden  where the composer received inspiration during his afternoon walks.
