Listvyanka is the most convenient destination for the first acquaintance with Baikal lake. This village is located just 70 km from Irkutsk and it makes an hour drive from the airport or railway station to get to the nature beauty. Three days are not enough to explore Baikal and enjoy its magnetism but just enough to keep a few glimpses in mind to come back for a longer trip.
Itinerary:
Day 1
Meeting with a guide at the airport or the train station. The guide will be holding a sign Bridge to Moscow
Breakfast in Irkust followed with a sightseeing tour of Irkutst, de facto capital of Estern Siberia
On the city tour ( 3 hours) you will see Znamensky convent, the oldest one in this region where some Decembrists were buried including Russian Columbus G. Shelekhov, stroll along the Angara embankment to see the Moscow gate.
On the way to Listvyanka village (1 hour) you can visit the Taltsy -the museum of wooden architecture where a unique collection of Siberian houses as old as of 18th century are put on display in the landscape.
