Once the Soviet Union fell apart, people had to deal with a horrible shift from the planned economy to the market one. All spheres of life were affected with these transformations, be it economy, religion, politics etc. People became the part of gangs which tried to take control of the city.
On this tour you will visit different quarters of the city which were under control of two rival Mafioso groupings in 1990s, you will hear stories about those who took control of Yekaterinburg city in Yeltsin’s times. During the cemetry visit you will see impressive tombstones elaborately designed with full-sized portraits of the people dressed according to the 1990s gangster fashion with Mercedes cars in the background.
