Three day tour of Saint Petersburg

Tour info

Tour duration: around 8 hours each day 
Transportation: 1st day walking, 2nd day driving, 3d day driving and walking
Tour covers: Walking tour of thecity,  the Hermitage, the Church on the Spilt Blood, Catherine Palace with Amber Room, Petergof Lower Park (summer option), Tour of Pavlovsk estate with a palace (winter option), Peter and Paul Fortress including cathedral, Yusupov Palace, Guided tour of  St Isaac’s Cathedral
 

Tour program

Day1

10:00 am – Meeting with a guide in the hotel lobby 
Walking tour of St Petersburg center:  Nevsky Prospect, Kazan cathedral,  Eliseevy Merchants’ Shop,  Arts Square. 

12.30 Guided tour of the Church on the Spilt Blood
A memorial church  built on the place of Tsar Alexander II  assassination. The church is one of the top attractions of the city is also famous for its mosaics: they cover more than 7000 square meters  and will impress you with their  beauty and skill. 

13.00 – 14.00 Lunch break

14.30 – 17.00 Excursion in the Hermitage Museum
We’ll explore the former Gala Rooms of the Winter palace and discover the most amazing works by European artists including Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Tizian, Rembrandt, Rubens and  many other artists.The tour ends in the Hermitage (closing time is at 6pm)
 

Optional tour extensions:

Option 1 

A visit to the Impressionist collection of the Hermitage (located inside General Staff building). You’ll discover amazing works by Claude Monet Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Vincent van Gogh,  Henri Matisse Cézanne, Degas, Gaugin, Picasso and many other great artist of the late 19th early 20th century.
Tour duration: about 1 hour, you can visit the Impressionist collection of the Hermitage after you’ve seen the Gala rooms

Option 2

Public boat tour in summer
St Petersburg boat tours are a perfect way to see St Petersburg under a bit different angle – going under numerous bridges (many of which have very elegant railings designed by famous Russian artists) along rivers and canals (including the Neva River), and listening to curious stories from your guide.

Day 2

9:00 am. Meeting in the lobby of your hotel.

Travel to  Pushkin also known as Tsar’s Village. 

10.30-11:30pm Inside guided tour of Catherine Palace with Amber Room.
The Catherine Palace is probably the most luxurious summer palace near St Petersburg. It is located in the town of Tsarskoye Selo 30 km south of St. Petersburg, Russia. During the tour you’ll walk through a magnificent gallery of gala rooms and discover the legendary Amber room.

11:30-12.30 pm.Walk in The Catherine Park .

1 pm - 2 pm Lunch (optional).

In summer time we offer a tour of Peterhof gardens  

2 pm - 3 pm Driving to Petergof (Summer option)

3 pm - 4 pm. Petergof  Lower Park.
The palace ensemble is often referred as the "Russian Versailles’. You’ll enjoy a picturesque walk through the gardens with three unique cascades and dozens of powerful water jets and admire Grand Cascade, with its staircases, waterfalls, an avenue of 64 fountains and 37 gilded statues. During the tour will walk past  elegant royal pavilions

In low season we offer a tour of Pavlovsk (October - April)

Pavlovsk is a former  residence of Emperor Paul I . The elegant classical style  palace looks much different from bright and colorful baroque. The estate is famous for its huge picturesque English garden.

2.30 pm - 4pm The tour of Pavlovsk estate with a palace

5 pm. Return to the hotel.


Day 3

09 am Meeting with a guide and driver in the hotel lobby
Driving tour of St Petersburg. During the tour you'll see most significant sights of the city Guided tour of Peter and Paul  fortress including cathedral which is a  burial place of all Russian tsars from Peter I to Nickolas II. From the walls of Peter and Paul Fortress opens a beautiful panoramic view on the Neva River.

1pm - 2pm Lunch break

2 pm Guided tour of the Yusupov Palace including the exhibition devoted to Rasputin assassination
Walking to St Isaac’s cathedral

3.30 pm - 4.30 pm The guided tour of St Isaac’s cathedral.
Optional walk to the observation platform. If you are not scared of climbing of 226 steps you may get an unforgettable vie of the city from the Colonnade of the Cathedral

Optional tour extension:

Faberge museum visit.  The museum's collection contains the world's largest collection of works by Carl Fabergé, including nine of the famous Imperial Easter Eggs. The museum's collection also includes jewellery, tsar’s gifts, items in Art-Nouveau style The museum is located in the Shuvalov Palace on the Fontanka River - one of the most beautiful palaces in St. Petersburg.
