book now!
The famous Russian writer Leo Tolstoy was born in Yasnaya Polana in 1828. Here  he spent about 60 years of his life, wrote many books including "War and Peace" and "Anna Karenina" and was buried in 1910.

Yasnaya Polana is a huge territory of parks, orchards, and ponds. Walking along its quiet alleys you'll feel you're traveling back in time. The estate has preserved lots of authentic buildings and the house of the writer will tell you more about the writer's way of life, works, and thinking.

Yasnaya Polyana Trip Highlights

  • Take a leisurely walk around the estate's peaceful gardens with apple orchards, ponds, and hills.

Yasnaya Polyana is fabulously beautiful in spring when apple orchards bloom, and nightingales sing. It is lovely here in summer when the trees and meadows are dressed with bright greenery. Golden autumn brings bright colors and a tasty harvest of apples. If you visit the estate in September, you can try delicious apples from the estate's orchards. Snowy winter will be full of charm too.
