Are you willing to go back in time? We invite you to join our tour to Vladimir, Suzdal and Bogolubovo and discover ones of the most picturesque towns of the Golden Ring. The tour is kid-friendly and will be interesting for both adults and children.

Suzdal

Sightseeing tour of the central part of Vladimir which includes Assumption cathedral interior (if it is open), St Demetrius cathedral (outside), Golden Gates (outside).

Pokrova-on-the-Nerl Church in Bogolubovo

After it, we’ll head to Bogolubovo, where the famous Pokrova-on-the-Nerl Church of the 12 century is located among picturesque meadows.

Suzdal

Sightseeing tour of Suzdal which was once the capital of Rostov-Suzdal principality. This town is like a museum under the open sky, its medieval monuments can tell you its old story. During the tour you will see the Suzdal Kremlin, visit one of the numerous monasteries as well as the Trading Square where you can get some treats from locals. We’ll also explore unique museum of wooden architecture and learn about the everyday life in Russian village in the past.

Draft itinerary:

07:12 – 08:58 Train to Vladimir from Kursk railway station.

Meeting with your guide and driver in front of your train car.

Assumption cathedral in Vladimir

09:00 – 10:00 The tour of the central part of Vladimir. During the sightseeing tour of Vladimir you will see the highlights of the city including the Assumption cathedral (if it is open), St Demetrius cathedral (outside), Golden gates (outside) and learn the old history of Vladimir, once the capital of Rus.

Pokrova-on-the-Nerl Church in Bogolubovo

10:30 – 12:00 Walking through meadows or going on a horse sled (for extra fees) to see ancient Pokrova-na-Nerli Church of the 12 century located on the Nerl river among picturesque meadows.

Driving to Suzdal (about 30 min).

Lunch break

Suzdal

14:00 - 17:00 Sightseeing tour of Suzdal includes the Museum of Wooden Architecture, famous for beautiful 19th century wooden houses of wealthy peasants, St Euthimius monastery where you can listen to bell ringing (or Intersession convent), Suzdal Kremlin and Trading Square.

Driving back to Vladimir to take 18:06 train back to Moscow which arrives at 19:48 at the Kursky railway station.

Ideas for a second day

We'll be happy to offer you more options if you choose to stay over a week-end. Below are a few ideas of what you might do:

Visit a friendly animal farm in Suzdal, play with domestic animals, sit on a real oven and try bow and arrow shooting. You might also take a bread-making master-class
Take a walking tour around Vladimir and visit the Assumption cathedral, famous for Andrey Rublev frescoes
