Moscow metro

Moscow metro

Moscow metro is the most frequently used public transport in Moscow both for Muscovites and tourists. It is one of the most favorite Moscow highlights. That is why you would probably be interested to learn a few curious facts about it.

The deepest station of  the Moscow metro  is "Park Pobedy", 84 meters, the height of 28 storey building. At the same metro station one can experience the longest escalator (126 m). Standing at the bottom one can not see the top.

The longest way of the Moscow underground is "Krylatskoe" – "Strogino" (light blue line) which is equal to 6,625 km. As for  the shortest way it is "Delovoy Centre" – "Mezhdunarodnaya" , just 497m

When you are taking a train to the center of Moscow you usually hear a male voice announcing the stations.  You would be surprised to hear a female voice once going from the center. Though there are some exceptions. On the ring line the clock-wise direction submits to the male voice, while counterclockwise direction is under the guidance of fair sex.

These and other curious facts about Moscow metro one can learn during Moscow metro tour.
