Moscow museum night 2015

On the 16th of May more than 250 museums and art galleries of Moscow will open their doors to the visitors of all ages within the framework of Museum Night. This annual event allows to visit a lot of interesting places for free - from the evening till midnight or even early morning. Moscow tour guides prepared for you a kind of short program of the most famous museums taking part in Museum Night 2015. 
 

Moscow Manege

All the expositions of Manege will be devoted to the theme of memory. The guests of this museum will have the opportunity to visit the international festival of modern cinema called «2morrow/Завтра». The admirers of Fedor Mihailovich Dostoevsky should't miss the pictures of “Idiot” in the interpretations of different Russian and foreign directors and lectures by famous philosophers and literary critics. 

 

The Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics

Visitors of this museum will be able to see the pictures taking part in the festival Space DocFest-2015, enjoy the interactive masterclass “How to become a cosmonaut”, quiz “Cosmic experts”, see the show of french artist Magda Mrovets “Town dawns”, learn more about the basis of cosmic photograph and even meet the Hero of USSR cosmonaut Aleksandr Ivanovich Laveykin. 

 

The State Museum of Oriental Art

If you are looking for the wisdom of the East, come to the State Museum of Oriental Art and visit the expositions called “Deathly beauty” and “Eastern house. The artists of Uzbekistan”. Don't miss the  traditional China dance of Lion and Dragon and calligraphic show performed with «Tea Lion Team». You can also take part in the masterclass devoted to Argentine tango, see the photo exhibition “Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego: travel together – see different” and paintings of Julia Avanesyan, telling about tea ceremony art.  
 

The State Biological Museum of K.A. Timiryazev

On the 16th of May the guides of this museum will tell the guests about the night birds and introduce you to a great collection of odours of different plants. A curious interactive exhibition called “Be all eyes!” will tell about the functioning of human and animal eyes. Those who are interested in cold-blooded creatures should visit the hall with exotic frogs, lizards and snakes and observe the life of carnivorous plants. 

 

The Tretyakov Gallery

During the Museum Night you will be able to see the expositions of Tretyakov Gallery for free. 
The installation “The devotion to “Black Square”, choreographic etudes in the hall of the ground floor, museum picnic and evening concert performed by the live orchestra – in our opinion, are really worth visiting. For the young guests of the Tretyakov Gallery the organizers provided a special creativity area on the first floor called “A studio of multicolored suns”. Visitors who are interested in giperrealism will have an opportunity to listen the excursion and attend “The animation evening” devoted to this direction in art. 

 

The State Darwin Museum

The State Darwin Museum prepared a very interesting program in retro style both for adults and children. Disco in the open air, best diapositive film strips of Soviet time, jazz experiments of famous musicians – here is a short list of activities prepared by the organizers. Moscow tour guides recommend that you visit a park on the roof of the museum, see the interactive exhibition “Horror! Horror!” devoted to different phobias, pay attention to the project “Father can!” showing the most independent and careful fathers in the animal world. After 6 p.m. the roof of the museum will turn into the park with children's playground, exposition “Stork on the roof” and book-crossing zone.
